If you are visiting this website, I commend you for even considering therapy. I know firsthand it is not necessarily the easiest decision to make! Oftentimes, life brings about inevitable stressors that throw you off course. Perhaps you are experiencing anxiety from a recent life transition, feeling engulfed with grief from the loss of a loved one, recognizing some self-sabotaging tendencies that leave you stuck in a painful cycle, or perhaps you are seeking some support with the day-to-day struggle that comes with being human.
Hello and welcome! My name is Jessie. My hope is to support you in finding a clear path to healing from whatever has brought you here today. I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and a Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist in the state of North Carolina, and a National Certified Counselor with the National Board of Certified Counselors. I have worked in various roles and agencies within the realm of mental health treatment for almost eight years, with the last three years practicing as a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor, providing therapy to the Veteran population with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. During these employment experiences, I have seen time and time again the healing power of a therapeutic relationship- one that provides a safe, supportive, and non- judgmental environment to help a person heal from life’s most challenging experiences. This is what I seek to provide to the clients I work alongside in a therapeutic partnership.
I have provided therapy to the Veteran population, individuals with various levels of substance or alcohol misuse, and older adults experiencing challenges commonly found later in life. I enjoy working alongside individuals as they navigate various life transitions, have difficulties in finding their self-worth and those experiencing grief from the death of loved one, divorce, or other types of loss. I have engaged in various trainings including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Mindfulness Based Counseling to gain skills, education, and interventions to support individuals experiencing symptoms from anxiety, emotional dysregulation, grief/loss, identity confusion and relationships disturbances.
I feel honored to be a therapist and look forward to my job every day. When not at work, I try to be outside as much as possible, either hiking, gravel or mountain biking, and rock climbing. I have a deep appreciation for my morning cup of coffee, breakfast for dinner, college football, and my community of friends and family.
I believe in the power of human resiliency that we all have within us- the ability to be flexible, adaptable and recover from the inevitable stress of being human. However, sometimes accessing these skills may be difficult when life stressors pile up and it feels as if you can barely keep your head above water. If you are seeking additional support in this endeavor and believe I would be a helpful fit for these needs, please contact me through this webpage so we can talk further. I look forward to hearing from you!
